Community benefit Fund
Wind2 and Octopus Energy Generation are committed to ensuring that the local communities benefit from the energy park and will be providing a dedicated community benefit fund of at least £5,000 per megawatt installed capacity.
As part of our upcoming round of public consultations, we will be seeking the views of local communities on how the fund should be managed, distributed and used. More information will be provided for discussion through our public consultations.
Community Shared Ownership
In addition to a community benefit fund, Wind2 and Octopus Energy Generation would like to explore potential models for part community shared ownership of the proposed Parc Ynni Banc y Celyn, whereby the local communities and individuals would have the opportunity to invest into the project.
A variety of community shared ownership structures would be explored in collaboration with the local community and Community Energy Wales, a not-for-profit membership organisation that provides assistance and a voice to community groups working on energy projects in Wales.
